Loodus kutsub – garantii vaid 10 euro eest! *

Meiega näed rohkem...
www.naturetours.ee

Estonian Nature Tours´i elamusretkede hinnad on nüüd erakordselt taskukohased. Pole vahet, kas soovid retkele tulla üksi või kaksi, sõprade või perega, töökaaslaste või klientidega, garantiipileti hind on inimeste arvust sõltumata 10 eurot täiskasvanu ja 5 eurot lapse kohta.

Mida tähendab garantiipilet?

Looduses olles me ei räägi ainult, me näitame ka.

Estonian Nature Tours osales Po Delta Birdwatching and Slow Tourism 2014 messil

Estonian Nature Tours (ENT) osales rahvusvahelisel Po Delta Birdwatching and Slow Tourism messil (Itaalia) eksponendina esimest korda. ENT osalemine ja kaks ettekannet, Estonia – the heart of European wildlife ja Estonia – a shelter for Western Taiga forest birds (esitaja Marika Mann) olid äramärgitud ka Po Delta messikataloogis.

ENT tutvustas Eesti loodusväärtusi ka kohalikele ajakirjanikele. Itaalia suurim keskkonna- ja kultuuriajakiri, Oasis (tiraaź 35 000), soovib tulla tutvumisreisile juba mõne nädala pärast. Tutvusmireisi tulemusena ilmub ajakirjas artikkel ning sellele lisaks tehakse reportaaz Itaalia rahvuslikule TV kanalile 5 (telesaade l'Arca di Noè, vaatajaid 4 miljonit). Teine populaarne loodusajakiri Natura (tiraaź 7000) on kinnitanud oma soovi tulla tutvumisreisile oktoobri alguses.

Messitöö kõrvalt leidsime aega vaadelda ka linde (flamingod, naaskelnokad, karkjalad, tumetildrid, kääbuskormoran jne.) ja külastada Bardello luhaniitu, kus õitsesid tuhanded orhideed (Anacamptis laxiflora). Palju tänu meie saatjatele – Mr Conca, Mr Giacinio, Mr Fiorini!

Rahvusvaheline Po delta Birdwatching Fair 2014 toimus 1.-4.mail Po Delta Pargis Comacchios (Ferrara maakond).

Estonian Nature Tours in the Po Delta Birdwatching Fair 2014

Estonian Nature Tours (ENT) participated in Po Delta Birdwatching Fair (Italy) for the first time as an exhibitor. Interest in bird and other wildlife trips to Estonia was high. During those four days at least three hundred visitors asked for more detailed information about Estonia. Visitors were especially interested in wildlife photography as well as individual tourist packages. The idea and design of the fair stand was about ESTONIA – with banners and fantastic photos on the walls concentrating on the species and habitats most interesting for the Italian nature tourist. Two lectures (presented by Marika Mann), Estonia – the heart of European wildlife and Estonia – a shelter for Western Taiga forest birds were mentioned also in the fair programme.

ENT introduced the natural values of Estonia also to local journalists. The biggest environmental culture magazine in Italy, Oasis as well as one of the most popular nature magazines, Natura have shown their great interest to visit Estonia already this year. Estonian Nature Tours team visited Po Delta area for brief birding where we encountered nice flocks of Flamingos as well as many other wetland birds (Pygmy Cormorant, Little Egret, Avocet, Black-winged Stilt, Spotted Redshank etc). We also took a short trip to Bardello flooded meadow (70 ha) to photograph Loose-flowered Orchids (Anacamptis laxiflora). Many thanks to Mr Conca, Mr Giacinio, Mr Fiorini!

A new book „Birds of Prey of Estonia“ just published

Tarvo Valker, the author, speaks in his 230-page publication about the changes in the abundance of Estonia's birds of prey through the latest quarter of century, about their distribution, breeding and migration. For each species one can find time of the year and best places to see certain raptors. Unique part of the book is ringing data about raptors marked in Estonia and found elsewhere. The book is illustrated with colour photos by best Estonian nature photographers.

The book is available now in the internet also!

Ilmunud on uus raamat „Eesti röövlinnud“

Röövlinnud on Eesti ornitoloogide ja harrastuslinnuvaatlejate huviorbiidis olnud juba 20. sajandi esimesest poolest alates ja neid võib pidada üheks meie kõige paremini uuritud linnurühmaks. 230-leheküljeline teos räägib Eesti röövlindude arvukuse muutustest läbi viimase poolsajandi, nende levikust, pesitsemisest ja rändest. Unikaalseks teevad raamatu rõngastega märgistatud röövlindude taasleiukaardid. Raamatut illustreerivad rohked kvaliteetsed fotod tuntud ja tunnustatud loodusfotograafidelt nagu Remo Savisaar, Arne Ader jt.

Raamat on nüüd saadaval ka internetis!

Matsalu Rahvuspark tähistab täna oma 10-ndat sünnipäeva. Palju õnne!

Matsalu Riiklik Looduskaitseala loodi 1957. aastal, 2004. aastal nimetati looduskaitseala ümber Matsalu rahvuspargiks.

Estonian Nature Tours´i büroo asub 3 km kaugusel Matsalu rahvuspargi külastuskeskusest. Oleme oma tegevusega kaasa aidanud Matsalu rahvuspargi tutvustamisele mujal maailmas. On uhke tunne elada nii kaunis kohas.

White-backed Woodpeckers were seen almost daily

Tim Harris, the author of the RSPB's 'Migration Hotspots of the World' visited Estonia!

„I was keen to sample Estonia in spring, having written about the country in the RSPB's 'Migration Hotspots of the World'. It proved to be an excellent choice of destination for the first week of May. From marsh terns and waders in the polders and fishponds around Tartu to Savi's Warblers in the massive reedbeds at the eastern end of Matsalu Bay. And from woodpeckers in the primeval forest at Jarvselja to the visible migration of Barn Swallows and flava wagtails at Mehikoorma, the country did not disappoint. As someone who has always struggled to see Three-toed Woodpecker, the crowning glory for me was a pair in Lahemaa National Park. And let's not forget White-backed Woodpeckers, which were seen almost daily. In fact, I had good views of eight woodpecker species. Neither will I forget the sight of fields full of White-fronted Geese in the north-east and - later - thousands of Barnacle Geese on the move around Matsalu Bay. There were unexpected birds, too, such as a Whiskered Tern, a little north of its regular range, and a male Pallid Harrier, on the move in the north-east.
Although this was not a trip to search for mammals, we did encounter a Brown Bear that wandered across the track while we were looking for woodpeckers, and we also had good views of Beavers. Five days in the field produced about 160 species, passage migrants still with a long way to travel, returning breeders and resident species. Thoroughly recommended.“
Tim Harris, author of the RSPB's 'Migration Hotspots of the World'

Northern Bullfinch is not a native British bird, and the call is very different.
This is a pair I photographed.

Each spring, thousands of migrating birds are shot by hunters in Malta. It's the only country in the EU where this is allowed to happen.
Malta lies 100 kilometres south of Sicily and is a popular destination for sun-seeking British holiday-makers and is steeped in interesting cultural and natural history. It also lies on the Central Mediterranean Flyway one of three migration superhighways between Europe and Africa. Millions of birds migrate along this route every year and the Maltese Islands are an important resting place for birds making the long flight across the Mediterranean - the final barrier before they reach mainland Europe. Malta has the highest density of hunters anywhere in Europe, with approximately 80 licenced hunters per square kilometre of huntable land estimated this spring. Hunting of this intensity is not seen anywhere else in Europe, probably the world and predictably has a devastating impact on the birds hunted.

Luke Massey has visited Estonia four times and would like to come back as soon as he can. See the Luke´s gallery about Estonia...
