ENT has done a thankworthy job in appraisal of Estonia's nature and conservation

Estonian Nature Tours has gained deserved confidence amongst nature conservation and bird protection organizations of Estonia. We have initiated and participated in several public disputes and discussions related to wildlife and continuously support research and protection of the Flying Squirrel and the Foundation for Estonia's Young Conservationist Award. We participate actively in discussions of the Matsalu National Park's Cooperation Assembly and manage a tourist information centre in Lihula together with the local municipality. By virtue of the report at the fall semester of Estonian Society for Theriology (study of mammals) it was acknowledged, that ENT has done a thankworthy job in appraisal of Estonia's nature and conservation, widely introducing Estonia and its wildlife abroad. Our participation in partnership days with the Ministry of Environment has also been extremely useful with worthwhile discussions related to protection of wildlife (ENT and the Ministry of Environment signed a mutual Free Will Contract in 2013). In connection with Estonia's Chairmanship in the 2nd half of 2017 there will be an international conference on environmental matters, arranged by the Ministry of Environment, where among other topics Wildlife Tourism will be discussed, as suggested by ENT.

ENT has had a busy year. Besides our existing clientele we have found several new partners, mostly from Great Britain, Germany, Spain and Belgium. The number has grown almost up to 30.  The number of loyal clients has increased as well and that indicates, that we have provided reliable and high quality service.

Our activities are also of great importance in a local context. Several accommodation providers from our network have told us that our clients significantly extend their season and help the enterprises to survive. It is always good to know that our clients are awaited and beloved.

Here, we would like to share with you something really marvellous.
One of our customers sent us, by post, this little booklet >

Matka 2014

Estonian Nature Tours participated in the largest Tourism Trade Fair of the Nordic states, Matka 2014, taking place in Helsinki from 16 to 19 January.

On Saturday Marika and Raili were doing the sale work at the joint stall of the Läänemaa County. Interest in nature tours in Estonia among the Finnish people has increased remarkably. The questionnaire about visitors preferences in the region “worked” very well, and a four-day culture and nature tour to Läänemaa County will be drawn from among the correct answers. Although it took some time to find the answers from the printed matter, almost a hundred interested people filled in the questionnaire just at the stall.

The questionnaire is written in Finnish and the winning opportunity is targeted to Finnish people. It is possible to participate until 31 January (incl.). After the closing date, the winner will be chosen and contacted by Monday 3rd February 2014.

If you’re not lucky to participate, you can still visit this stunning location this year. Visit the Estonian Nature Tours website at www.naturetours.ee for details.

Clients are talking / Kliendid räägivad

"I really enjoyed the spring of Estonia. It was very nice to see green trees and yellow flowers everywhere. We also had very nice weather for birdwatching. I had problems with the English names of the birds. Because I did decision on traveling so quickly, I didn't have time to learn them before this tour. Our bird guide helped me, when I asked. We saw some birds almost every day and so I began to knew their names during the week. I like to thank you for organizing such nice tour"."T.M. / Estonia in Spring / May 2012

"Back home in Finland. Thank you so much for a wonderful bird watching tour. Out or 22 children age 12/13 it is not so easy to get them interested. But I think we reached 50 % and that is SUPER!!!! Will recommend you to others!" Helsinki Rudolf Steiner School / May 2012

"Just thought I'd drop you a line to say a big thank you on behalf of the group and myself for arranging a fabulous birding trip to your country. We all really enjoyed it and it was great to have you with us during the first couple of days - the Black Grouse stand out and were a highlight for everyone. As was the river trip in such fine weather along with the added bonus of seeing 5 Beavers it was simply just great. And how can seeing the weird looking Elk (Mr Moose!) not be a highlight they are so bizzarly fantastic. Ivar was really good an outstanding birder and great companion for our remaining 5 days. I learnt so much off him regarding bird songs I hadn't heard before such as Icterine, Marsh & Blyth's Reed Warblers and Red-breasted Flycatcher. And I don't think any of us will forget watching numerous Great Snipe lekking whilst being eaten by mosquitos - all part of being there. Ivar was a safe driver and his knowledge of birds and other wildlife in Estonia certainly helped make the trip such a success. Please pass on our thanks once again to Ivar. Our total was 138 species seen plus another 18 heard only." J.W. / Estonia in Spring / May 2012

"Thank you for a fantastic trip - it was a real pleasure being with you for two full days and we much enjoyed your company, your country and of course your birds!" J.T. & J.T. / Tailor-made holiday / May 2012

"Thank you for the wonderful trip! We were very happy with everything. The programme was intensive and interesting, the food good and the guides very knowledgeable and nice. Nooarootsi with the swedish memories was an extra bonus for us who are still a living swedish-speaking minority in Finland. Perhaps one day we will be as dead as the coastal swedes in Estonia... Your nature is really beautiful and as we are also interested in cultural landscapes and the restoration of them. It could not have been better! Thank you again, on behalf of myself and all the pupils!" A.L. Tölö Specialiseringsgymnasium / Study trip to Matsalu National Park / May 2012

AS Kunda Nordic Tsement / Linnukevad Matsalus / Mai 2012

Päike paistis:) Piknikukorv oli suurepärane:)" A.H. / Cherry kampaania MATSALU TICKET kanuumatk / Mai 2012

"Meile (mina + kaaslane) meeldis. Seoses sellega edaspidi kindlasti pöördun rohkem huvi looduses reisimise kohta." M.A. / Cherry kampaania MATSALU TICKET kanuumatk / Mai 2012

"Meie jäime matkaga väga rahule. Juba homme päev tuleksime tagasi:)" K.K. / Cherry kampaania MATSALU TICKET kanuumatk / Mai 2012
K.A. / Cherry kampaania MATSALU TICKET kanuumatk / Mai 2012

Cherry kampaania MATSALU TICKET kanuumatk / Mai 2012

"Läks hästi, kõigile meeldis! Koht on kaunis, ilm oli ilus, lõuna oli maitsev :) Suurimad tänud põneva kogemuse eest." S.G. / Cherry kampaania MATSALU TICKET kanuumatk / Mai 2012

Dr. I.W. / UK, May 2012 (väliseestlane, püsiklient).

Ryanair Magazine will soon issue an 8-page feature about Estonia

In the middle of September several European top journalists visited West-Estonia (Läänemaa County). The promotional tour was organized and managed by Estonian Nature Tours and it was partially financed by the Environmental Board (Matsalu National Park) and partially by EU. The main aim of the tour was to introduce to the whole world, with the help of motivated journalists, our wonderful network of unspoiled wetland habitats, different birding and mammal watching opportunities, our unique wildlife and to promote Estonia’s rich history and the options of sustainable tourism.

During the 4-day promotional tour several nature reserves as well as the Matsalu National Park were visited. In addition the guests received a comprehensive overview of the local history. Participants in the tour were almost exclusively top journalists from several leading travel magazines of Great Britain, Finland and Russia and a travel agent from the Netherlands.

Ryanair Magazine with over 4.5 million readers will publish an 8-page feature about Estonia in their upcoming Nov/Dec issue. A professional travel magazine from Finland Ikkunapaikka – Window Seat Travel Trade Magazine (15 000 readers) already issued a story in their Oct number. World Voyager Magazine ("Всемирный Следопыт"/ St.Peterburg) from Russia will publish a 2-page story in their first issue of 2012, that will reach almost 250 000 readers. Another Russian publication – Time Out Moscow (www.timeout.ru) with 50 000 readers will also publish an article soon. The travel agent from the Netherlands promised to start to sell two separate tours – in May and in October.

On 17 September the guests had the opportunity to meet Ms. Kaja Lotman, the director of the State Nature Conservation Centre, Ms. Nele Sõber, leader of the NGO Terra Maritima and the crew of Matsalu Nature Film Festival. It was soon followed by the festive final ceremony of the Matsalu Nature Film Festival and collective watching of the Grand Prix film.

Here is some first-hand feedback from the participants:
There is still a good taste in my mouth from the trip I had the privilege to participate with you! (And that is not only because of the excellent and tasteful Estonian food!)
I am writing to thank you and Ivar once again for this wonderful trip and this new experience. It was a very interesting and eventful program.
We got back fine yesterday and with many happy memories of a great time in Estonia! Thanks so much for everything you did to ensure we had such an enjoyable few days – I loved it all.
It had a big impression on me. Now I love the beautiful town of Haapsalu and I like looking to cranes of course!
